The more I see it, the more that Genesis grows on me. I, too, have questioned using the Hyundai moniker, but I guess they want this to be a halo car that ups the overall value of the brand in the US.

$24 grand... eh, for that price, I'll take a G6. Or a slightly used Monte Carlo LT. Or a slightly more used GTO.

So the most ridiculed small car in America is also the most dangerous? Somehow, it makes me respect the PT Cruiser. Just a little bit.

What is up with all these blue lights? Are they actually going to make production?

I don't have the ability to watch Top Gear (at least not legally), so I can't comment on the show. But, if I were a marketing exec at Tesla—any kind of exec for that matter—I'd be royally pissed at the portrayal of my car being pushed off track for lack of charge IF it was just staged for entertainment purposes.

If money's no object? Snake Skinner. Or the 1970 Olds 442. Or maybe that #3 Brickyard 400 Monte Carlo.

@WilliamG.: Er, I meant to say 3-D models instead of renders. My bad.

Guys... you've got the renders. Might I suggest handing them over to some computer geeks so we can at least enjoy hooning these cars in R-Factor?

I'm amazed at the color. It's a very good choice.

Didn't Chrysler just introduce a new Jeep Grand Cherokee? Or is it not going on sale until after the hiatus is over?

@SLR_BlowerMania: Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right... but Three Lefts Do!

@jchabotte: I just checked the other day and I've averaged 29.5 mpg over the last 50 gallons in my Monte SS, according to the computer. I don't think I've even wound the engine over 3k more than twice since I've had the car, the thing just runs like a bat out of hell. My old Grand Prix with the 3.1 use to get 30 mpg

This post has the best discussions I've ever seen on Jalopnik. Hall of Fame, seriously!

IMO, they finally got the retro-'stang right. I always thought the initial design looked less like the muscle-car Mustang and more like the secretary-car Mustang. This looks like the Mustang everyone chooses to remember.

@Wes Siler: In which case you buy a Dodge Caliber.

To achieve that figure, I had to drive dangerously, illegally and boringly. Basically, I went really slow. Really slow.
