We have one here in IL that is over top of an interstate and it works quite well-- they have lots of signage as well as the stripes on the roadways.  In practice the crossover also seems to have a bit of calming effect.

My son and I were at the EAA Airventure convention a week ago and saw the Bullitt Mustang side by side with the one-of-a-kind RAF spitfire inspired Eagle Squadron Mustang:

Did you say Buick because the Chinese inexplicably (miraculously?) have deemed it the ultimate status car in China? (seriously!). However, it’s doubtful that the Chinese will ever view a motorcycle as a status symbol, because the whole point of having a status symbol vehicle in China is to have someone else drive you

Not at all (unreliable), Harley makes fortune on the mods, which are mostly cosmetic. They also make a fortune on stuff with the Harley logo on it (perhaps more than the bikes themselves)

In an expression of supreme irony, my 15 year old son has proclaimed his love for the Harley Street Rod with the matte finish. So maybe there’s hope for them yet...

It works for the same reason that the pre “COT” vehicles ended up being banana shaped based on aerodynamic rule bending— in most races they are only turning in one direction, so anything that aids the turn is good.

IMHO Harley hasn’t made a good looking bike since the mid-1950's, and I’m supposedly in the target demographic (although I am neither a dentist nor a fan of ironic cosplay). The reputation for poor quality that they rightfully earned in the 1970's dogs them to this day...although I have been on the shop floor of their

I drove a sweet manual transmission Merc A200 hatch last December as a rental car in Germany. Before I knew it I was at 95mph on the unrestricted autobahn outside Frankfurt with no effort at all. It’s a very nice car. The hatch version would be infinitely more useful in a package this size, I must say.

Cheaper, yes, but the Chevette had some interior body panels made from....wait for it....particleboard! And they didn’t even fully cover the interior sheet metal.

I don’t think they make these anymore. It was a good idea at the time for their intended use cases, but they don’t get very good gas mileage.
