My dad had a slant six in a full size truck. It was indestructible. One of the best worst designs ever.

This mostly sounds like the rant of someone who not only had no talent to make it into a race car but also no money. So maybe McQueen mailed that race in but he did compete in several others as well as motorcycle racing and did very well.

Don't be sucked into the media hype with this. Danica hasn't won in any NASCAR series. She has one win to her name in any major racing series. It's not an inaccurate statement to say she can't win. At this point it's true. Sam Hornish was an Indy Car champion, has won NNS races and had some decent NASCAR finishes, yet

Well technically speaking people did give up on developing electric cars. They also gave up on developing batteries because they took the easy road. Needless to say I reiterate where might we be if Mr. Porsche had continued this type of development.

Didn't mean to imply it could go 150mph for 150 miles. That was a top speed and a miles range in the article so I listed a top speed and a miles range. Some cars may exceed 150mph some may have more range but that's pretty average for the performance cars.

It's a Ferarri, it will sound good no matter what.

50 miles of range at 22mph. 112 years later we get 150 miles of range at 150mph. Not terrible if looked at in a vacuum. When compared to other tech over that span we still have some work to do. Too bad Porsche did not continue to develop this, who knows where he might have led it.

Three cylinders are in the motorcycle world and work very well. Triumph makes some car sized three cylinder motors that pump out 145hp and 145 ft/lbs at 2.3 liters. In a light enough car it would get some pretty good gas mileage.

AT gets marginally better MPG in the EPA tests that are not real world driving. I have never had an auto get the EPA estimates. I have had multiple MT vehicles achieve better then EPA estimates because I can drive a car better than the engineers can try to guess what I want the gear to be.

Maybe Mark got tired of working his butt off and not eating every single day to get to a magical weight just to almost compete with Vettel in a car designed for a smaller driver. Taller heavier drivers will be gone from the sport completely soon. I am surprised Button is still around. There is a 3 inch difference in

I owned a 1980 TA with a transplanted 400 CI Pontiac motor. What a wonderful beast.

There were many "flights" before the Wright brothers. They are the first on record who did a controlled banked turn and landed under full control. History has morphed over time to misrepresent them as the first to ever fly.
