Whilst living in Europe I quite liked the look of the Renault Megane and Talisman wagons. Never drove one, but I thought they looked great.

Modern french cars, like most older french cars, are mainstream cars. This might be odd to Americans, but it’s true. The engines, reliability, practically, power and more tend to be on par with the German, Japanese, Korean and whatnot competition. Which is why they are still in business.

Modern French cars. I think Americans have this romanticized idea that cars we don’t get over here are all magical, forbidden fruit, but most modern French cars are boring, underpowered, plasticky crossovers you wouldn’t look twice at if they had a Nissan badge on.

is not a vehicle for people like you and me.

I’m not about to pretend anything JLR make is a bastion of reliability - but people should at least compare like for like.

We literally take ours up and down mountains and through vineyards all the time. Not quite a lifted Land Cruiser but very capable in off-road settings and raised suspension.

LMAO What? Mines coming in at like $115k, and that was like me picking every option I actually wanted.

We have a 2019 HSE with 41k miles. Has only needed regular oil changes and a new set of tires. Even the brakes aren’t quite ready to be done yet. This is our 4th Range Rover and all have been great. The Audis and Porsches I’ve had all had weird little minor issues under warranty.

Most people (myself) are getting the regular version of these (the SE) which clocks in around $110k. Judging by the reviews it seems to be more than enough car since the SVs are monstrously overpriced. The G Wagens around here are going close to $200k with the markups.

Why all the us and them? I love Jalopnik and drive a Range Rover. I don’t think I’m them. They’re not as unattainable as people think.

I’ve got a 2008 RRS Supercharged that I bought new, and it has been shockingly reliable and cost effective. That being said, she’s getting a little long in the tooth, so I’ve been considering a change.

All I can think and see when I see that pic you posted was this:

In fact, it’s one of the best looking 7 Series models the company has ever built.”

..and were three of those faultless Range Rovers service loaners?

Glad you enjoy it.

Really missed a chance to make this into a slideshow for each individual car.

Small grille? Really?

“Complicate, then add bloatedness”

1st: I know that most readers around here shit on the idea of a lease, but it makes sense in this scenario. Whatever that end-of-term value that was written in 35 months or so ago would seem like a really nice price right about now. This leaves 2 good options of either buying it out and flipping it, or strong arming

But what comes up must come down
