We currently lease a full-size, medium spec Range Rover HSE, it was $105,000 MSRP. I thought this was outrageous at the time, but looks like good value compared if this this ugly, overpriced monstrosity ends up being $100k. The Range Rover / Cayenne S > / X7 V8 crowd aren’t going to cross shop a Jeep. I think $65-70k

So you’re saying you would pay $82,999 for it?!?!

Gut reaction to the styling aside, $60,000 isn’t an outrageous price for a 3 row 4wd truck. I think the $100,000 top trim will be a hard sell because it gets into the price range of traditional large luxury SUVs, and I don’t know that the Jeep brand will have much clout within that market. If Jeep can get the base

The only Wagoneer I would consider worth throwing big money at would look like this and not be anything newer than a 1991 model. That being said, if the new one looks exactly like the concept it would certainly most appealing of the genre.

Great for your parents that they are affluent yet frugal with their automotive choices. That’s a very smart decision and those are two very reliable cars. That said, I’m not sure two brand new Toyotas truly depict wealthy coastal New England. The truly discreet yet wealthy folks I know on the Cape, ACK or the Vineyard

Sounds a lot like Audi purposely dulled down the driving experience on this car to avoid stepping on the toes of the RSQ8 that would otherwise be almost mechanically identical. Honestly wish they made the looks of this thing at least SLIGHTLY less dull.

The Q7 has been around for about 4 years already. This S version is the first one being rolled out as part of the mid cycle refresh of the Q7 (only major difference besides minor cosmetic stuff is the dual screen center stack). This review literally covers all of the stuff in the car that can be found in the regular

Then you should be less unhappy when rich people decide to spend $90k, some of which goes to dealership employees and mechanics, as well as engineers and line workers and engineers and line workers for the suppliers, rather than $40k on a milquetoast crossover and $50k squirrelled away into a mutual fund. I don’t see

For my entire life, I’ve watched the middle class get poorer and poorer, and the rich scoop up more and more for themselves. I’ve watched industries pivot away from providing quality products for the masses and toward catering to the ultra-wealthy and the fat profit margins that they can afford. I’ve watched as the

Why all the salt? The “market” doesn’t have feelings and ignore the poor - whoever pays up for new cars dictate the market. The Camry is still the #1 selling car and the fact that it went from a beater to a nice sedan means Toyota isn’t ignoring anyone. There are people like your parents, except they want nicer cars.

there are millions of millionaires

I tried convincing my wife to get the 4Runner Limited- instead of the Lexus GX- we can afford either and they are pretty damn similar cars- $20k difference. Wife didn’t even want to test drive the TO-YO-TA.

The US needs to get rid of that requirement - I’m sorry to sound heartless but the assumption needs to be that someone is wearing their seatbelt. If you choose not to wear your seatbelt, well... you know.

Sorry, I rank LA as worst city in USA.  At least the traffic in Houston actually moves.

I was ambivalent to the changes until I saw the star display is in the dash now, not just the ceiling, so I guess I will have to trade in my old RR for this new one.  Can’t be driving around in some piece of crap with no star display in the dash.

I suspect it is off the 7 series platform so that then they don’t have to link the development cycles of the two cars and avoid being stuck in a situation where the RR is *gasp* on a old 7 series platform while the 7 series is on a newer platform, as is the current case. Now it’s with all the other RRs.

God. A car I don’t want, painted up in tribute to a band I don’t like, being offered for a price I’d never pay.

Oh, Christ. The Outback-ization of everything continues.

The E63 wagon is still sticking around and being updated, though.

NOO! My E Wagon was exceedingly rare already as is.  I’ll go and hug it later.
