I don’t see a problem with this if the other (slower) chargers were available. There is a lot of consumer ignorance about EV chargers, charging speed and battery capabilities.

Oakland is like a bad game of Sim City where you neglected to put any police stations in so it all started going to shit.

This isn’t really a new thing. Porsche allowed me to do this over a year ago when leasing my Taycan (which is now exempt from any type of federal tax credit due to MSRP). They called the $7,500 down payment assistance and Porsche claimed the credit themselves at the end of the year. I didn’t have to put anything down

It’s fully paid off

I honestly felt the same way about EVs until I got my Taycan. It still feels like a Porsche, especially in RWD base model form. It’s no 911, but it’s way more fun to drive than something like a Panamera. It wasn’t cheap to lease, but it’s cheaper to run than an economy gas car, it seats 4 adults, and has effortless

Totally get the rural lack of infrastructure, but I’m not sure the cities are much better either. I live in California wine country (northern Napa Valley) but I’m back down in LA for the month and actually think our little rural community is better for charging - we have an Electrify America 30 mins away in the city Na

Let me get this straight - one of the most stolen auto brands now sells a vehicle with a built in payment method inside. Is it April 1st?

$40k gets you into a relatively tidy 2005-2008 Porsche 911 (997) Cabriolet. There’s nothing like the combo of Porsche and Land Rover (I’m biased haha).

Makes sense. The illuminated Mercedes logo is already the pre-requisite option for the leased CLA crowd here in LA. After all, how else will you let everyone know your entry-level “luxury” car is a Mercedes?

We are back about twice a year for at least a few weeks at a time but during all seasons.

Something British or German with high mileage.

Fixed the headline for you

Couldn’t agree more. The oil and grease on the roads from the first rain of the season is very real in the southwest, it’s almost like black ice.

😜

Meh. The Acura brand is on life support.

Enjoy your Bolt and your free charger!

So now all consumers drive Chevy Bolts?
