I’m a big Range Rover fan and on our 4th full-size with no major problems, but even I know not to ever get a first model year of any car - especially not a JLR product. The 2022.2 MY of this RR generation is a complete nightmare by all accounts from owners on the forums.

The Sandero looks like a subcompact in a car insurance commercial where they weren’t licensed to use real brands.

What’s a Chrysler?

A co-worker’s 2019 CX-5 visiting our Atlanta office. It was a high-spec model. It was perfectly fine. Like a nicer RAV4. The fit and finish was pleasant, but nowhere near something like a Volvo XC60 or Audi Q5 which were only about $5k more.

Those are good cars, but if anyone around here has a Telluride or a Palisade, it’s most likely a third car for the au pair to cart the kids around.

You are an outlier in cross shopping Mazda with those brands. I also think it’s great that you loved your Mazdas (although not enough to still drive one). I’m not saying they’re not good cars. Being a good car doesn’t change the perception of the Mazda brand in most affluent parts of the country.

You sure about BMW and Mercedes? 😂

I think Mazda has delusions of grandeur. What else actually occupies this premium specific space? Low-end Audis? Infinit, Acura? Perhaps Lincoln and Volvo? I just don’t think most people see Mazda has anything more than a regular Japanese or domestic brand, especially here in California. Unlike a brand like Volvo,

I can’t believe I’m staying this, but Lucid could be really good acquisition for Tesla, with some simple styling tweaks and charging capability, just turn the Air into the long overdue next gen Model S. The Air is a great car and the build quality is much better than Tesla.

100% this. I think they wanted to create some kind of performance sedan pedigree for the brand before launching the SUV, but it was just not the right product to launch 10+ years after the Model S.

If the G90 started at $75k, then I would agree how great it is, all that luxury would be good value. But it’s not. It’s almost the same price as a brand-new S-Class.

100%. They’ve spent 40+ years building brand equity in model names only to start calling everything ID-. Mercedes also has lost the plot with EQ.

Fair play to KIA for actually putting it into production and keeping it really close to the concept. Interested to see how big they are on the road.

The NP or ND Taycan is going to seem like a sizable bargain by the end of the day. 😂

Definitely agree on the Ford Explorer as the quintessential 90s car in the US. Growing up in the UK, it was another Ford - the Mondeo - that was on every street corner, it was so boring and inoffensive, and really considered the everyman car, police cars, sales rep company cars, minicabs, and a top seller the UK throug

A country club in Riverside though.

I got my Taycan last year and received the $7,500 credit + additional California tax credit for EVs.

It’s not as bad as the photo would suggest. It looks like the driver is a taller guy and the driver’s seat also set back because it’s in automatic entry mode.

As a Taycan owner, I will say not getting the optional performance battery pack really does make a difference in terms of both added performance and range. I was highly advised to get that from every Taycan owner I met, not just my sales guy and I’m really glad I did. For about a $5k option, I get more like 270-80
