Just get a new XC60. It’ll feel like a really nice upgrade from the previous generation. If you’re really set downsizing, the V60 CC wagon (same platform as an XC60) is actually 3 inches longer so probably less practical for city driving.

Like the article mentions, we literally went from a Macan S to a base Taycan and we are saving roughly $300-400 a month. We also got the $7,500 tax credit + California credit applied to our lease MSRP. What this article fails to mention is the free charging offered by Electrify America if you buy or lease a new

Oh it’s a shield not case, I forgot what the mechanic called it.

Land Rovers were a reliability nightmare in the 1990s, but post-BMW and now in the TATA era, they are much more reliable. No, they won’t take the abuse that something like a Land Cruiser will, but they are absolutely fine as long as you keep up with regular maintenance. That seems to be the issue in the US - people

I daily a Porsche Taycan, but out of all the “regular” cars from a non-luxury brand, I think this is one of the best looking cars on the road. I’d 100% take this over a similarly priced entry-level luxury car like a BMW 2-Series or Mercedes CLA. When a Honda is this good, it renders the Acura brand largely pointless.

Blues are underrated. One of my favorite colors was a Sepang Blue Pearl I had on my 2016 SQ5. It was an S-specific color and always popped in the sun.

100% that. We usually are serial lessees but we had a 2019 full-size Range Rover which was $105k new. Lease ended last year and the new 2023 RR was just so overpriced and hard to find in a regular normal spec (we’re talking $50k markups and at least $2,500 lease payments). Since our 2019 buyout was $63k, and it’s

Oh I missed this. My automotive highlight of 2022 wasn’t the fanciest or most expensive car I drove this year but it was unexpected. Some close friends of ours came over for way too much wine and left their car overnight. I naturally offered to drive it back to their home the following morning. The car in question - a

Playing it too safe”

You are 100% right. No matter how much we love our Taycan, relying on something like the Electrify America infrastructure is a very un-Porsche like experience.

Too VinFast, TooVinFurious?

Be quiet and enjoy your Corolla Cross

I am somewhat surprised because I feel like I see these everywhere, they sell ok right?

This is not behavior befitting of a luxury brand

I am surprised the Escalade nameplate hasn’t spawned a spin-off range of products in its 20+ year existence. Could pull a Land Rover with Escalade, Escalade Sport etc.

Ha - chrome as an option is very different to chrome wheels used in the hero shots for a new product launch. It says a lot about who Mercedes is targeting.

Are those chrome wheels?

I wouldn’t say Mercedes is turning its back on cheaper gateway models, they still have the little GLA and CLA. The CLA was so similar to the A-class that perhaps 2 entry-level sedans was overkill.

It’s funny how differently they are perceived around the world - they are for sure super old money in the US. I’ve seen lots in Nantucket, the Cape, Jackson Hole, but growing up in the UK, Land Cruisers and Mitsubishi Shogans (Monteros) were associated with gypsies/travelers, and often seen towing a white caravan.
