So every genre of storytelling except for autobiography is arrogant. Checks out.
It would be an even better time for some white athletes to take a stand. I'm always disappointed in how much of the anti-racist narrative ends up on the shoulders of black people standing up for themselves as opposed to people of all ethnicities standing up for basic human decency.
The fact that a place might not be there tomorrow doesn't mean any fewer people will want to go there today. The fact that there are enough cabbies who can pass it to keep the operation going and enough demand for their services for them to command a higher rate than other taxi services in London is justification…
Trying to pretend that you didn't announce your so-called viewpoint in order to provoke a reaction after you've been called out on it does not make you a successful troll.
The conditions were difficult, but far from undriveable. They weren't even on the full wet weather tyres.
Seems wrong to reference John Oliver without mentioning that he already did this article, and better:
Speaking from a relatively uninformed perspective, isn't this the problem with objecting to any game based on its values? Although realism is a powerful asset to many games, there's always a degree of fantasy that will make any game seem preposterous if you interpret it as realism.
Fair play. Good riddance.
No, it is quite clear from the other posts they didn't fire him for that he was specifically expected to cover "heated" topics. Your argument makes no sense - you don't care if Lotus agreed with his tweet but you know it's a personal belief not a corporate one because Lotus disagreed with it?
He was their Brand Director. There is no way he was required to get approval from higher up for every single tweet. He made a judgement that they would be OK with it, and while that turned out not to be the case the company is now getting seriously bad PR for not being OK with it.
Did I miss the bit of the tweet where it said they were personal beliefs? I'm pretty sure posting as if you speak for the company you work for was essentially his job description. I think in that context their corporate beliefs are entirely relevant.
I think the point is that their corporate beliefs ought to be in line with the post he was fired for...
You kidding? That smirk is less "something awful is happening and the world must know about it" and more "come to papa, you poor, neglected automobiles".
Well I guess it's good that Leno has shone some publicity on this atrocity, and it's sad to see so many great cars rot, but there's still something a little bit icky about the fact that the biggest car collector in showbiz chose to use his fame to make a rare stand against brutal human rights violations that just…
Take Iran, for example, which has actually put a moratorium on stoning people, but which still proscribes a methodology, via Slate:
Ah, I think you're right - that explains why they alternate between stills and animation in the video. All the same, the photos are all in windowless parts of the suite so the lighting is kinda artificial and disorientating. It's very hard to tell where they sit in terms of the width of the plane or how all the rooms…
Yeah, street racing against cars that (most likely) outpower yours while operating a video camera with one hand? No thanks.
If all they have to show so far is a bunch of renderings, could we at least get a floor plan or layout of some description? It's very difficult to get a sense of space from the pictures although sure, it seems cushy.
There are airlines that have had those wings on the headrests in economy for years. There's nothing inherently revolutionary apparent from that picture, but the main factors that make an airline seat comfortable or not aren't going to be apparent until you sit in it.
