Well, yeah, of course a heat engine is inefficient. However, its still more efficient than using a heat engine to generate energy chemically to store chemically and then put to use mechanically.

The whole concept of “batteries” is a bad one. The best way to store a lot of energy in a compact space is gasoline. Just get over trying to replace gasoline. It will not work as gasoline has the highest energy density of all the energy sources available.
Funny how that is, but its only fair when comparing apples to apples to have both cars with the same drive-train.
Complain all you want about the Z3 and its shortcomings. Reality is that it is the easiest and cheapest BMW to own/maintain this side of an E30. Its a great car, and you can’t help but have fun with it.
And you can’t see out the back to save your life.
S54 Z3 M Coupe is 1000x better.
Lets be honest with ourselves. The Z4 was a complete embarrasement and should be quickly forgotten. Its two generations of production were still only 2/3s the sales numbers of the Z3.
Spec Miata is not. However, there is a new MX-5 Miata Cup series with factory supplied race cars. The factory race car is $53,000.
I don’t understand why people complain so much. I get complaints about an old pickup truck I have in my driveway. Its the worst color green, and its a 20+ year old Ford Ranger. I never drive it because its terribly uncomfortable. However, it IS a truck, and it does truck things just fine. Despite the peeling and faded…
Gawker putting up a factually based and informative article that isn’t full of bias, bullshit, and clickbait? Holy shit, what is going on over there?
I think that they should line up every executive over at Chebby and just fire them all at once. They have so much talent and engineering, and yet they are run by complete idiots out of touch with everything relevant.
What crackhead thinks that any blue other than Estoril even matters?
You know, I think it has a lot more to do with the owner of the vehicle and the maintenance its had over its lifetime.
I’m in for ejection seats. Could you imagine how freaking cool that would be?
Having been in similar seats before, I wouldn’t pay for them again. The general admission lets you walk around and see more angles of the track. Those seats are just hot and miserable and you don’t see much. Definitely not worth the premium over general admission.
Here comes the Garage Journal Junkies!
If you were to add the sales of the Silverado and the GMC Sierra together they outsell the F150.
If we want MPGs we need to reduce weight, not add more electronics.
Ha ha! You edited the graphic because you thought it was NSFW!
This is what bothers me about GM. They CAN make cars that aren’t complete soul crushing shit. As a lifelong BMW driver/owner I can’t help but actually consider the CTSV when looking at my next sedan. It seems absolutley capable, if not a giant beast.
