I see this as helping Toyota, but not really helping Mazda.

I don’t have any thoughts yet. A couple friends have them on order, so I will save my judgement until I see them in person. I have 4 M cars, I don’t have any P cars. .... Yet.
Yeah, you keep smoking whatever you are smoking.
Lets be honest with ourselves, the 1 M was never a real M car, it was only a marketing exercise. Everything was exactly the same as the regular 135, but they stuck the E92 M3 subframes under it and flared the fenders a bit. No M engine, no M Car.
All they need is to drop the S63TU into the i8 and call it ANYTHING ELSE.
This is why living in the Northeast is dangerous and should be avoided at all costs.
Sounds like too many communists or HOA board members out in California. I am not sure which is worse.
Speaking from personal experience on a 94 300zx, this is a mountain of work. The engine bay has to be the tightest of any I have ever experienced. I took a perfectly working car with 40,000 miles and more oil leaks than BP and after 9 months of weekend work, I had it all back together with no leaks. This engine is so…
Engineering cars to beat the EPA test when we all know they will never be driven that way by any human on the planet. Small turbos are not more fuel efficient anywhere but on the MPG test.
Why can’t we have more Batman Beyond? That’s the best Batman by far.
Don’t nip at their heels, tear thier legs off and laugh at them. Turbo power numbers don’t matter one bit in this segment, you can get the same HP out of a 2.0T ATS with a few parts and some programming. I don’t know a single person with a 335 that doesn’t have a juicebox.
Well, if you aren’t a prospective buyer, you probably won’t get it no matter what I say. Lets be honest here, the ATS was targeted at the E46 BMW. Its all about balance, weight distribution, and being nimble. And it IS nimble, it handles pretty well. The kids are getting the 2.0 turbos super cheap because Caddiyak…
Just think about it. What is the one thing that chebby is known for doing well? Small Block V8. There is serious brand equity in those engines. Doing a terrible turbo just because BMW did one is a stupid reason to do anything. The BMW engine is an inline 6, and they seem to have a good history of keeping things…
That’s completely not true. The problem is that we crazy BMW drivers understand that front wheel drive econoboxes are inferior. Slushbox only cars ARE inferior. Its about driving dynamics, and its about the aspect of driving. The people who only care about image don’t care about those things, but the people that drive…
Maybe first generation foreigners, but the second and third generations are thoroughly Americanized and have SUVs.
I tried to rent a solstice one time when I was out in California. I couldn’t fit my standard rollarboard carry-on in the car anywhere. Seriously, it wouldn’t fit in the trunk, and there is no where else to stash it. Amazing they designed this car so poorly. I am all about fun and sportscars, but you have to at least…
I was being sarcastic. Lets be honest, an ATS-V with a LT1 will be better all around than a turbo anything. It will be simpler, more reliable, and the aftermarket for small blocks are so vast that it would be a giant killer like the GTR. Instead, its just going to be an also-ran behind the M3.
Who are you kidding? The SS, while awesome and completely overlooked by everyone, is a much larger car. I have yet to find one in manual at a stealership to test drive and I can’t bring myself to buy something I can’t test drive.
Wow, you totally stole my humorous retort.
I am going to wait for the V8 version.
