Even the dead slow 1.8 4 cylinder Z3 that was only produced in 1996 and 1997 had more power than the Miata. Any straight 6 in the Z3 is vastly superior to the Miata. With about 300,000 Z3s produced, you should be able to find plenty. Don't get me wrong, I had a Miata and it was a fun car, but it doesn't compare to

You should drive the Coupe more. If you can't bear to drive your garage queen, get a second coupe. ;)

Side by side the S2000 is so much bigger on the outside and smaller on the inside. Not sure how they did that. Terry's car is pretty.

Yeah, but the S54 M Coupe is more rare than the Z8. ;)

You understand it just zips in right? I guess you have to contort a bit, but its $185 from the stealership for the replacement window and it ZIPS into the top. Done. No glue, no fancy tools, just a zipper. Just like when you put on pants and have to zip up the fly. Sure an M Coupe is obviously better, but as far

Yeah, that's completely inaccurate.

Have you ever seen an M Coupe in person? They are tiny. The Gt is enormous.

Everyone is welcome to their opinion, but I bet if you had a Clownshoe for a weekend you would become a believer.

Randy Forbes can sell you a kit to do yourself or you can have it done. Its not really a big problem, but it does happen. I want to say its a northern car problem, but IDK. I have the first production coupe sitting in my garage with 193,000 miles on it and its sub-frame is solid as a rock. This was the press car,

Its all surprisingly easy to fix. Valve shims are pretty simple to do as well, and usually you only need 2 or 3 shims, so if it can sit in the garage and wait you can usually order the shims after you check them and it only costs a couple bucks instead of buying the whole kit. Seat bushings are easy too. Just make

That was stupid.

You wouldn't be dumb enough to sell it I hope.

Thats BS, I got 100k miles with an 8200 rpm redline and never an issue.

You can bolt the E46 M3 transmission right up. The chassis even has threaded holes to bolt in the cross-member about 6 inches back from the one for the 5 speed. So it doesn't get any easier than that. Same amount of effort as changing the clutch.

True, but you can always pop a 3.73 in there for $75 and a couple hours of tinkering.

You did a bad thing. You should feel bad.

Do it. Join the Coupe Cartel!

Yeah, I was completely surprised that it was just the opposite if you are doing the work yourself. Both cars have roughly the same service intervals, but a water pump and belts on the Z3 is a cake walk compared to the same service on a Miata. Parts are comparable in price depending on where you source them.

Well, the maintenance is cheap, and that counts, right?

You have the perfect car in every way.
