Sadly, those two races are the only ones that are actually slightly interesting. Something about racing those ancient two ton tanks around a road course is hilarious and interesting at the same time. They have been technology averse for so long that the cars are comical.

What a shame isn't it? Clearly most of the regular drivers can't really cut it in a real race. However, lots of the big name drivers in nascar moonlight in actual races with actual race cars. (Rolex, Sebring, etc.) So the blame is to be laid on nascar itself, and not necessarily the talent pool.
