He's a thoroughly unoriginal player. Not bad overall, he has his moments, but his imitations are so obvious.

What's great about that first one is how it's technically a solo, but it's just a brilliant melody. The first note, that soaring third, sets the tone beautifully.

Damn right he did songs for soundtracks - his solo track "Seasons" for the movie Singles is great and I say that as someone who really didn't like his post-Soudgarden solo stuff.
