In order for impeachment to happen the Republicans have to actually give a damn about doing the right thing. They are not interested in this; they are only interested in amassing power and disempowering anyone who doesn’t belong to their club. We, the people, are not members of their club.

I think you’re reading it wrong. Trump seems to be implying that if Comey starts talking to the press, Trump has tapes that will show he’s lying. Why would he warn Comey about talking to the press if he also knows Comey has tapes to back it up? Impeachment would be a bigger outcome that Trump merely suing him or…
