Just read this and thought to give it a try on my windows PC, but found out that this reader isn't really free. And the link to the beta only leads you to their purchase page.
Picasa (photo organizer)
I noticed this software when I was looking for a replacement for KeyNote (the note taker). The features in BasKet features are enough for me to use, but it still doesn't have tab function (am I right?)
I also use ScribeFire firefox extension, because it is lightweighted and works inside Firefox. I know MS Live Writer, but I'm not sure whether it's overkilled for me (a light blogger).
@sunnydayz: Thanks for the tip. Going to try it now.
I used Symantec corporate edition for many years, but it really slowed down the speed of starting up. I then switched to the free antivirus software. - Avira, because it's lightweight on system resource.
@calpchen: Thanks for the tip. BTW, Mnemosyne also supports Unicode. I like some of its features, eg integration with LaTeX, display of image and the portable support. It will be great if Mnemosyne can support other OS systems.
To me, the problem is the region code. I have DVDs from region 1-3. I have to use AnyDVD to watch the disc on my PC or laptop. I don't want to rip it into the hard drive to watch the movie.
@kregerator: the closest thing I know is Books, an open-source book cataloging software.
@darsal: That's how I do with these folders.
Have been using flashget + flashgot firefox add-on for a long time. It now supports BT & emule download (haven't tried the latter).
@angrykeyboarder: Interesting. I'm also looking for this feature. Why is it often not working?
I am a Mac newbie and I admit that I haven't played around iPhoto 08 yet. But I do like Picasa on my PC, so having the same software to organize the photos on both machine would be more convenient for me. I just hope that this won't take to long to be released.
How about PC Tools Spyware Doctor from Google Pack? I installed it base on some recommendation here. However, I have experience several times windows freezing during its daily scheduled scan.
