I bought a 2006 Mazda 6 in 2007. Paid it off in 2011. I’m at 152k miles and just had my first “major” repair in January. Up until that repair (new exhaust due to 2 holes in my flex joints, basically my car was quite loud) it was only lights, brake pads, and tires. Regular stuff. Very happy with the car.

Based on 1 experience with 1 car It will be difficult for me not to buy another Mazda.

Same thing we’re doing. We’re 4 years into a 30 year and can refi into a 20, lose the PMI, and make the same payment we are making today. Even if we throw the closing costs into the loan.

History is a great example. I have no idea what happened to me in high school but (when I was in college) I could not recall basic American history. I took 4 history classes over 2 summers to give myself a base of knowledge.

Pizza cutters. You can cut all the food your child will consume from birth until about 4 with a pizza cutter. It’s much more effective than a butter knife on a cutting board.

There is a lot to be said for being well-rounded. It’s a often used phrase that gets thrown around a lot but being well-rounded in a variety topics due to the general ed requirements has helped me a lot more than I thought as I struggled through gen ed requirements in college.
