wireless charging only works when the phone is placed on a charging mat, still piss poor solution that doesn’t fill all the use cases of a separate charging port and headset jack.

Because then they have to pay Apple for every single one, and they have to build one specifically for iphone 7's, that’s as dumb as removing the headphone jack in the first place when the tank in sales is likely to bring the headphone jack back in iphone 8.

Streaming is not allowed on a lot of corporate networks, also local librarys on phones, etc.

Yes, I do. It works great and is universal in an ever increasingly proprietary throw-away world. I don’t need a DSP in my headphones, I really really don’t. BUT, if I did, I could still have bought lightning headphones last year.

I dont think you realize alll these parts are always in a state of shrinkage, besides the battery, screen, etc. The chips etc all get smaller and more tighly integrated. the jack and DAC consume a miniscule amount of space for what they offer: DONGELESS universal connectivity.
