IDK I feel like it’s taking a lot leaps of assumption/understanding to think the company with a heap of other management issues much more prevalent and damaging to the overall workflow and stability of the work environment, had any major downfalls from overworked people, just fucking around every once in awhile. 

if you think that it was somehow the dev staff fucking around a little to let off steam during their 80 hour weeks, and not the terrible management style that bankrupted the studio....then I don’t know what to tell you other then you don’t know how companies work.

In game dev there can be a lot of ‘hurry up and wait’ as your unit waits for assets or code to be merged into the branch you’re working from. So this wasn’t made in lieu of working on the game itself, rather in the time between sprints. Don’t mistake this for goofing off.
