I'm really not all that surprised. back 4 years ago when I worked in the College video production department we used them for offsite shoots. They would record audio nicely as a second source or if you just needed an audio interview to put over a video.

Luckily the wife and I are still using our old Alltel Plan through Verizon. I still have my extremely cheap all you can eat plan on both our phones. I even upgraded to an iphone and changed my plan minutes and was able to stay on my altell plan. Its amazing what a bit of threatening to leave will get you.

I bought rolls of electrical tape in the colors I needed and they are cheap. Most of my stuff is black anyway but I had some white devices too. It works nicely and blends in.
