Agreed. I thought I maybe I was being overly sensitive, but I do not like it when black people state that all black people do or think something because it just creates more stereotypes. Some people take declarative statements about blacks literally.

The UPS driver did the right thing, but this woman is the hero in this story.

Its snarky, and its wrong because it minimizes the role they played.

Shrug. I liked it. I laughed at a majority of the jokes and got a little teary a few times. It’s just a sweet throwback to the original. I don’t think anyone expected it to be the next big thing.

The story focuses more on the UPS driver’s call to authorities than the woman’s bravery and quick thinking

Viola Desmond was chosen from a group of only women. The whole point was to have the first woman (aside from the Queen) on a Canadian bill.

Yes, it really bugs me that in reporting this story a lot of sites are leaving out most of the facts. Also, the ‘Canada’s Rosa Parks’ reeeeaaaaaally bothers me because Viola Davis’ act was first, and Rosa Parks wasn’t even the first African American woman to give up her seat in the U.S.

Um, Joe Carter is American.

To create a legally binding, individual document after vetting a person’s record to make sure they are not letting murderers out (for example) and then getting it to the president for approval, yes. But you go ahead and be condescending anyway.

Republican lawmakers have no authority or jurisdiction in Canada, doofus.

She was also a very successful businesswoman selling beauty products and beautician training specifically for black women.

Show me one person who loves Mick Jagger for having a baby at his age. He’s a great-grandfather ffs!

Why am I surprised someone defended her tacky comments

See, I’m of the mind that you can bring up the ageist shit you have to deal with without listing people who died before their time. At an award show. And it did, in fact, sound like a boast to me.

Madonna’s speech was increadibly tastelesd! Who the hell brings up the untimely and tragic deaths of their contemporaries like that? “They died, I didn’t! Points to me!”

There is nothing ageist about finding boasts about one’s peers dying young crass. In fact.

My cat hated our roomba. He would run away when it worked and hiss at it while it was docked. One day we came home and found a giant turd on said roomba. The cat won. We no longer have the roomba.
