The Lemon’s Cybertruck is the closest this will ever get to a reality.

Who, besides the weird nerds who unconditionally worship Elon, is going to buy one of these? Everything it had as a market advantage has already been done better by someone else. Want a normal truck that’s electric? Ford Lightning. Want a trendy, cool lifestyle one? Rivian. Want something outrageous that stands out?

I wonder if he’s considering announcing a flying car to distract from the truck delays. Would probably be around two years out.

Move.

Yawwwwn.

It is. Your the one blowing smoke when your attempting to claim your charging your vehicle during PEAK time and conveniently omitting the fact that PGE rates drop to $.26 per kWh in off-peak hours (you know, when most homeowners that own an EV are charging).

Its very regional. In IL with our nuclear plants we pay $0.05 in the winter and $0.08 in the summer. Its a huge range from state to state.

You could have stuck with this one comment and made your point.

you should post this shit another dozen times.  i dont think people are tired of reading it.  maybe stop leaving all the lights and televisions in your house on all day and youll stop using more than 500kwh a month.  its wasteful.

jesus dude you dont need to comment the same bs in every comment thread. we get it you live in a shit area with expensive electricity. i can get it for 14.1c/kwh with free ev charging at night here in texas.

Copy and pasting the same non-sense over and over doesn’t make it right or true. It just makes you annoying.

Iowa on the other hand gives you a discount for every megawatt you use, so it goes down from .12-.13 to .10 and then .08/kwh.

I averaged .26 kWh/mi today in a Model 3. That’s 26kWh for 100 miles. I buy my kWh for $.11 at home, so that’s $2.86 for 100 miles. Gas is $3.25/gallon here soooo..

You know the average combined mpg of a car in America is 26, right? And even if you use 26 instead of 22 mpg and the national average cost of electricity per Kw and a gallon of gas the EV is nearly 2/3rds cheaper to fuel.

And for context, the EPA combined rating for the 2018 Jeep Renegade, Ford Escape and VW tiguan,

“$7.25 is not too far from $11.60.”

Is this Facebook where grandpa is spouting whatever BS some random Fox News talking head told him to think? JFC I expect a bit more from a site dealing with cars.

Uh, what?

$11.60 is 1.6X $7.25.
60% higher.
If you think that’s not much, let’s see your reaction to your landlord raising your rent from $725/month to $1160/month.

For the average 12,000 miles per year driven in the US, that’s the difference between paying $870 for electric and $1,392 for gasoline.

Per year. Every

Nope, the Bolt is the GM BEV2 skateboard platform, which shares no parts with the Gamma 2 platform used by the Sonic/Trax/Encore. It’s a common misconception, since the Bolt development started with the Gamma but evolved into its’ own unique platform.

And if you want to talk national average prices, let’s do that -

Ave

Ok, instead of $7.25 for 100 miles, how about $3.93 for 132 miles. This article is trying to compare the most expensive EV to the cheapest gas.
