“To the other people commenting; it’s good advice either way, and could maybe have prevented this depending on how the friend of a friend acquired the gun (which we don’t know currently).”
Tide goes in, tide goes out, you can’t explain it.
SPECIFICS ARE FOR THE WEAK LONG LIVE GENERAL OUTRAGE
I know. But I’m an editor... so there is a difference.
First off, yes, I still watch Survivor. I freaking love it. I’m a dork.
Thought it said ‘penisoir’
You’re right I do not, but
I don’t know how you can say there was no agenda when she (A) assumed they were guilty right off the bat (B) made zero effort to verify basic facts about the claims made and (C) lied about speaking to the people she then went on to use as sources in her piece.
There hasn’t been enough mea culpa by Jezebel on this front.
Right, but there’s a difference between (poor word choice ahead) run of the mill sexual assaults and an ongoing, annual ritualized gang rape. So no, the story wasn’t believable for a reason it was a cultural Rorschach test. For the people who believed the story whole cloth, it confirmed every bias they had against…
Well it seems to be fucking up the point of the original statue. The bull isn’t a hooray Wall St power symbol, it was meant to criticize the insanity of greed driving the market to collapse. It is a big fuck your false idol installation, but now everyone is like yeah girl SHOW THAT BULL which makes the girl the…

Always fun to go back and reread the comments of that one. Not a good look for many people, especially the author.
We’ve come a long way since “‘Is the UVA Rape Story a Gigantic Hoax?’ Asks Idiot.”
Even in the article you linked, there were barely any comments and only two proclaiming undying love for her. If you’re a big fan, you find ways to bring up your faves and I just don’t see people doing that when it comes to her...until they needed to protect her from the Coachella meanies.
It’s niche knowledge (comparatevly to a POC) of an 80's british songwriter, calm down
I have ten years on you and didn’t know who she was until I moved to the UK on the early 00s. I was not exposed to her growing up in the Midwest US, maybe people in other places were?
Definitely a major influence on Tori Amos, and a lot of the same fan base, i.e. gay dudes and crunchy 90s feminists (not meant to be an insult, I am a huge fan of both of them).
