“PLUS they’d be raising their own children.”
Spelling mistake aside, you are 1000% correct. These girls were receiving a free benefit from the airline that was subject to airline policies. One time I received free tickets to a Superbowl post-game party from a family member of someone on the winning Superbowl team. The ticket carried with it certain rules and…
Money doesn’t but happiness, but it can buy a jetski. Have you ever seen anyone sad on a jetski?
Yea this is a situation where this family could easily stop donating for a few years and be student loan free. Then knock yourself out going back to donating. They could also shave nearly $15,000 off by taking one vacation and cutting their car payments in half with slight smaller or cheaper cars. There’s zero reason…
Living in a city should never be considered a luxury. Not even NYC. It’s that mentality that’s making people turn a blind eye to all the low-income people being pushed out of the boroughs their families have been in for generations - that being in a famous city is a privilege. It’s not a gated community ffs.
I dont think people realize how expensive it is to live in NYC.
Surprised it took me a bit of scrolling to reach this one. It was a bit of a “gimmie” but glad you did it.
“Even you can become President!”
As I read the rules in their entirety, they strike me as less about policing what women wear, which I would consider to be sexist, and more about steering all non-revs away from flying is athletic wear (sweats/track pants) for men or athleisure (yoga pants/leggings) for women. The airlines just really don’t want their…
I’m trying to think of casual wear that would be man specific (in that women don’t wear it or don’t wear it without without severe social repercussions as would be the case for a man presenting as a cis-hetero-man in leggings or a short dress or any dress) and I can’t think of any.
Now I’m wondering all the different kinds of clothes considered traditionally men or traditionally women. I only own jeans myself. Maybe there’s just more kinds of clothes for women and therefore there’s naturally more rules on clothing for women when creating a dress code.
right, but that is the policy. they were not compliant. hopefully this forces united to change that dumb policy.
But....but.... sexism!
The amount of manufactured outrage and projection in this article is appaling.
If you look at UA’s rules for pass riders (full disclosure: I am a UA pass rider), cargo shorts are permitted (khaki and bermuda shorts are OK for men and women), while lycra/spandex/form fitting leggings are expressly prohibited. So the gate agent didn’t make an arbitrary call to police one and not the other. It’s…
And the people who dedicate Pearl Jam’s cover of Last Kiss to their sweetie on the radio. The girl dies. That’s the point.

It took eight movies to tell the epic saga of Dorf.
What story seriously needs SIX movies to tell?
