“On the other hand, it should be a good deterrent, I mean, I sure as heck don’t ever want to end up in prison and possibly get raped.”

Yeah, beaten to death and rape are the same thing.
It’s not a false equivalence. American cheese is dog shit.

“So what’s next? “He was speeding so he ran him off the road for that”... “Had she worn shorter clothes, she wouldn’t have been raped”.
Nope. I could make that same argument about eating dog shit. Ain’t gonna happen.

Whatever you say. I’m really not interested in continuing this conversation. It was a film I watched once 10 years ago that had no significant impact on my life. Let it go.
That statement wasn’t specific to Japan. You seem to be having a really difficult time understanding me so I’m going to end this conversation by saying this; you like a movie that I didn’t like. Instead of trying to blame it on the dub, or the culture, or whatever, just accept that not everyone likes what you like. I…
You lost me at “2 cups American cheese”.

You think people in prison get raped based on the severity of their crimes? Holy shit. The people who get raped in prison are the ones who are the least likely to fight back and just take it.

Why is that a good thing? Why should we care about their “brand”?
I looked at their Instagram page. They’re crap. I can pretty much guarantee you they’re offensively expensive too.
Agreed. I don’t understand the point of this. I can’t see the clothes and I can’t see the sex. I see a LOT of large pixelated blocks and some random limbs. OOOH HOW EDGY!
It is awesome. I live in California. I didn’t mean I wanted to hear snarky jokes, just that I fully expect to read them based on the content of this article.
“I am not American, but I have no trouble watching Hollywood films, I am not German but I can watch German crime dramas just fine, I’m not Japanese, but that hasn’t prevented me from getting into (good) anime.”
Waiting for all of the snarky jokes about California.
“But you only get that skill by watching a lot of subtitled content.”
Finally! Someone who gets it. :-)
I disagree. I think English dubs and subbed films both have their drawbacks. With subs I can’t immerse myself as deeply in the film because having to read splits my focus between the dialogue and the characters which takes me out of the film to a degree. With dubs you often get stiff dialogue that sounds unnatural or…
Ha! I was just about to reply “Minecraft” and saw your post. :)
