The series took a couple of episodes to grow on me. But it has turned material that might have been sudsy and melodramatic into a real opportunity for each of the actresses to showcase her talents. And each one of them has given an awesome performance.

However, I think the scene where Renata pushes into the school counselor's room to "work out her problems" with Jane is a masterclass in expressing rage. She isn't screaming or threatening anyone with words but her body and eyes scream "menace."
