You can not like it all you want but it is a common theme in science fiction (and literary works in general) from Frankenstein to Godzilla and the giant monster movies of the 50's to modern day movies. The theme is pretty timeless though, it is more about arrogance and less about the progress of science, think Faust

FYI California has the 4th lowest state employee per capita ratio in the country. We do have the second highest pay in the nation per worker but once you take into account locality and cost of living, it evens itself out (unless you live in the bay area where workers start below minimum wage). FYI: six string samurai should be in this list

I disagree, not a huge fan of Blade II

I agree on your dark knight summation, though I have to say that for me every Nolan film is kind of that way- I think that the art direction isn't bad and some good performances get drawn out of the actors but I never really feel connected to the story or the characters in any of them.

I like that you reference Troughton, I have often said that if the producers wanted to go a Hartnell/Troughton route with a new doctor, they really should look at Noble, he really does have the perfect mix of mania, brilliance and darkness that would make for a modern take on the 1st/2nd era doctors

that was what I was going to say, as well as the fact that peter's kid was a daughter and not a son.

she was an amazon, it doesn't count

like this one.

This is good information, it tells me that I should be able to get in pretty decent shape by starting a regiment of masturbating 6 or 7 times a day and changing my diet to pizza.

that and the Abrams lens flares made me laugh

same here.

I had a non moving spiral for like a half a second and then it was gone.

I was going to comment the same.

Has anyone ever noticed that the Hunger Games is just a ripoff of Battle Royal?
