Call me unethical, but when your spouse cheats on you, that's like a free get-out-of-jail card to cheat on them.
Yeah, she woman raped the shit out of him.
In all seriousness though, this is really the first time (that I can think of) that Rust has diverged from his strict principles.
I have another theory about why Rust would have sexual intercourse with his partner's wife…….he has a dick.
He did kind of look like Cthulhu there on the recliner.
Man, that was not quick. They had to talk to the gator guy related to the Ledoux family, track down the guy selling drugs at the rave, Marty had to get info from him at gun point, THEN Cohle had to go back undercover in the bike gang, go along with their snatch 'n grab plan in the ghetto, and then had to extract the…
Nah, it's the only way she could get it to sink in for Marty. To get him to feel the same pain she feels.
I think that's what this show is going for, the obvious, the expected.
It's moments like these that make me wonder why Marty's daughter made captain on the varsity slut team.
Ok, thanks, so she was or wasn't involved in the cult murders? Or just a separate case?
She prolly will too, otherwise he wouldn't have said it. Some Rust psychosphere street justice.

The biggest disappointment here is that Rust turned out to be a two pump chump.
Cuz she admitted that he just used him, on the spot (which was pretty uh c***y (sorry, best adjective I could think of). Maybe he had feelings for her.
He's human after all.
Who was that crackhead lady again? I missed that. So she had 3 births and killed all her kids? At one point turning off the machines? That was probably the biggest thing I missed. I caught she was an "evil bitch" but wasn't sure what her connection to everything was.
"if they suspect Rust, it seems they do so in good faith"
I recently read something about how Lovecraft was a bit of a racist, and that the "black guys" might be more appropriate as their race is significant. I don't really remember how though.
All around this whole series is so good. I've never seen a show so entertaining, characters so well developed, with such an emotional breadth AND simultaneously making me laugh like a maniac. Sometimes I think I'm watching a comedy, it's spit out your food hilarity. But then the writers quickly jolt you back to the…
