I'll be 30ish by the time HL3 comes out so I feel you pain. (Hopefully only 23 if we're somehow lucky and/or blessed enough to get an announcement for a release this year - doubtful though).
It has been 8 years since the original and 7 since the Special Edition and not once have I heard a shred of info on a new/remastered game. Don't you go getting my hopes up now of all times.. I'm still waiting on HL3 (which will probably never be announced in my lifetime).

The looks coupled with the aspect of smooth interplanetary exploration seems amazing, but not quite enough to make this an instant purchase. Yeah you can dogfight and travel between planets, but what else is there? I mean, is that it? Is there no economy? No crafting? Homes?
