@Platypus Man: You are missing the approximately quarter of a day that is rescheduled into every leap year. Both numbers are correct in a sense, it just depends if you are considering a year as 365 days or the actual amount of time it takes to make a full rotation around the sun.

I have a subscription to Backpacker that has been going on for a few years without paying anything. In these desperate times for magazines every subscription counts when they are trying to sell ads. That is why they sell them for a song or just simply give them away.

I am not a fan of gift cards. It just says that you don't have a clue what to get someone but you are too worried about what people will think to give cash. The logic of it just doesn't work when the gift card has a dollar value.

I don't have an ancient radio, but my older radio has an excellent tuner (I love FM) and I didn't want to get rid of it just for a aux in. I used a Scosche fm-mod02 and it works great without breaking into the radio.

Why wouldn't you use your fireplace? Splitting wood is an excellent workout.
