It really depends on the site and also the version of the OS. When I was running Android 1.6 on my slow-as-molasses MyTouch, the browser was usually way slower and more prone to crashing than apps. On my super-fast Froyo phone, it's really no longer an issue. I still use Facebook and Twitter apps rather than the

I have a rooted HTC HD (the WinMob one), running FroyoStone off the SD card. For some reason or another, the market refuses to let me download the American version of the Amazon MP3 app. It always downloads the UK version, even when I use a Market workdaround App and set it to T-Mobile (US). I tried to use AppBrain

I finally took the plunge and cancelled DirectTV on Friday. So far, it's led to me watching less TV and what TV I do watch is more enjoyable. I've been using Netflix and Hulu for years, but being reduced to just those two choices means that I always watch something I really want to watch, instead of just watching

You've never seen a boomerang come back? I've seen it dozens of times (the rodeo clowns at the Houston Rodeo used to throw them all the time when I'd go as a kid). I think they were plastic, but it would never occur to me that it wouldn't be possible.

This brings to mind Oddworld and Messiah to me more than the games you mentioned.

My new phone (HTC HD2 rooted and running FroyoStone ROM) has some issues with battery life. I eventually figured out that the phone was constantly searching for data signal while I'm at work, as the building does a good job of blocking out 3G from my carrier. I set Locale to put the phone into airplane mode every day

All I want is to be able to delete e-mail directly from the notification pane. It's not as big a hassle on my super-fast, rooted HD2 as it was on my slow-as-molasses MyTouch, but it's still seems like a pointless extra step.

Starcraft II and Modern Warfare, for sure, probably Castle Crashers, too.

Anyone else having download issues? There is no app in the Market called "Smartbar." Scanning the QR code above takes you to their website, clicking the download button on said website takes you to the Market...where there is no such app.

I'm a fan of Karen Traviss' Commando novels and I'm sad to see her leave Star Wars; however, I totally understand and respect her position there. George Lucas is a lunatic, and good authors shouldn't have to contort themselves around his idiocy.

I control my gaming machine / HTPC from my recliner, and it looks pretty much exactly like this. It works really well.

YES!

@SergioAM: T-Mobile apparently has bad 3G coverage in certain parts of the US. Down here in Texas, it's great. I get 3G pretty much everywhere I go.

@gaius83: Ooh...thought of some more reasons Android rocks the socks off of iPhone OS:

@g: That's one of my favorite things. Integrated Gmail and Calendar alone are worth going Android.

@blash: Enh...I felt the same way for a long time. It's not for everyone. I have a friend who doesn't even have text-messaging enabled on his phone. Once you have one, though, you'll feel differently, I'm sure.

@gaius83: That's just the most ridiculous thing I've read in awhile. There are plenty of us who have been using Android for a long time and are happy with it. It's not just about the future.

@SergioAM: I almost went with iPhone, too. I compared prices and found that I saved around $18/mo by going with T-Mobile over AT&T. That and all the research I had done plus the MyTouch 3G coming out the next month was enough to tip me over to Android.

Android, by far. I'm all about the whole open-source thing. I WOULD love a faster, slicker phone, though. My MyTouch 3G is feeling mighty slow. Lack of unified OS updates is an issue, too. Still...big Android fan.
