You bring a team of 6 to the battle. At team preview, you get to see your opponent’s team (only Pokemon, not items or moves), and your opponent sees yours.  You choose which Pokemon to lead, and two more to have for switching in, for a total of 3.  The other 3 sit on the bench for that game.

Worth noting that this only really applies to the fanmade Smogon formats (used on Pokemon Showdown primarily) and not anything official.

Thought he took the Ryu approach, where it’s all about the fight, not about the win

Arrive.
Win tournament.
Leave.

Yes, her playing league on her own time for years is definitely a “how do you do fellow gamers” and not that, and hear me out here, she might actually play games?

Counterintuitively, admitted theft is harder to contort facts into a defense than cases of police brutality, because the latter can always be blamed on the victim having done something to provoke the response.

As much as i like it i think the biggest issue has been the classics. They promised PS1, PS2 and PS3 classics and barely given us anything. I was hoping to play some truly legendary PS1 classic, and instead we got 1 or 2 decent games, a few no one gives a damn about an thats it. Give us big names. Vagrant Story,

They’ll prob have to change out some of the sign assets, as well. Maybe even add a few tweaks to that building shape on the splash screen. It will be a few weeks’ worth of work, no doubt. But they’re still in a good position compared to others who receive a C&D based on more foundational design/engine elements.

Honestly, all the dev has to do is change some colors.

But it would be a good way to “warm up” to get into fighting form, so to speak, before going into ranked.

There is no ranked/unranked in CoD. The SBMM forces everyone to sweat in every game mode.  What’s worse is that it weighs pretty heavily against the oldschool connection-based matchmaking so you also get way higher ping and longer times to get into matches as you improve.

I swear this happens every single FPS now a days and seems to mostly stem from some people not grasping that if the matchmaking has figured you out well, you should be getting put into matches at around 50% win rate, which of course means half the time you lose, which of course no one likes to lose. But waxing

I am all for this.

What do you think the overlap in the Venn diagram is between video game players that talk about how difficult games shouldn’t have easy modes (and probably use cheese strata to get through said difficult games) and players complaining about skill based matchmaking that reveals they aren’t as good as they think.

“I’m not playing this game because I wanna bully people and it won’t let me” is so weak. WEAK.

Yes.

I think this is a great example of a review where the author came to a conclusion, and the reader can fully understand the “why” of that conclusion and know whether the game suits them or not.

Honestly, every game with PvE and PvP should have it’s own scaling for each. It’s frustrating to see PvE ruined because of PvP and vice versa.

I’d argue that balance in single player games is overrated but that’s a different argument.

See, THIS is how you implement changes in a game that has both PvE and PvP. I really hope Bungie learns how to do the same in Destiny 2 because I’m tired of them nerfing weapons and gear into the ground for PvE content because in PvP those same weapons and gear are OP.
