They are prayer mats, and the header image in the article is one of the Kaaba in Mecca, the location muslims pray towards. The rest has images of the Kaaba and mosques. Some of them have that sort of mosque pillar design seen inside mosques in them. The sort of oblong bit is the top part where you place your head on…
Of course you don’t remember it, Amy, because, as the Sony leak proved, you say about a million dumbshit things a day. That’s way too many to keep track of or even be aware of the individual dumbshit content levels.
She’s like, “Well, you know, the character, as written, she’s been to university and is educated.”
The one in the header image appears to be a depiction of the Kaaba in Mecca, the holiest site in Islam.
What you are missing is cultural awareness. I say that sincerely and not with spitefulness. Those familiar with how they are used would recognize them immediately. The structures depicted on them stand out and are easily identifiable. But for those that don’t make the connection, it is understandable how those images…
2 of them have mosques on them and 2 has the qaaba ( holiest of muslim places ) ....
Re: What makes these carpets Muslim — Besides the size and shape, which are identical to the prayer rugs used five times a day by Muslims around the world, the rugs in the header image and the Instagram post all go one step further and straight-up depict mosques. We’re calling Seth Meyers a centrist? He is more left than any host short of Jon Oliver or Trevor Noah.
It doesn’t really change the fact that the insistence that Kimmel and Corolla were trolling all of us and their “Man Show” personas were merely satirical is false and revisionist. I am utterly baffled at how “Breakdown” isn’t a standout
I counter that by saying her best album is Butterfly, closely followed by The Emancipation of Mimi. The latter is a great comeback after the fallout of Glitter flopping and dealing with being considered a joke.
Lea Michele started as a child performer and her acting style has never matured.
Why is that generation and the next so intent on shitting on everything that came before them? I’m not saying that no other generation has shunned the pop culture of the past, but most tend to at least acknowldge that some good came of it or ignored it. These two generations, particularly the vocal ones (which I admit…
I don’t know what she was going for, but Khloe Kardashian’s new face looks like a young Denise Richards?
He's not selling his soul. It's a goddamn tv show, and it's his job to make money off such projects. I sincerely doubt anyone at Jezebel wouldn't jump at the chance if CBS (or even some third tier cable channel) offered them a deal based on the snarky Jez videos.
Thank You! Instead of people reflexively responding to defend her post, look at what she’s saying sentence by sentence. She went full Karen in a rant about music that she doesn’t make and shouldn’t compare herself to ---for what reason? Alanis Morrisette and Tori Amos walked so she could run. Amy Winehouse actually…
