“Analyses” like this are almost hilarious. Very few ask the question: “what products are the companies actually designing, building, and marketing?” In other words, what’s the product mix between BEVs, PHEVs, and regular hybrids?

Good. Going with the 18-inch wheels was a bad idea. Go back to the smaller wheels, and while they’re at it go with smaller, less effective brakes. Increasing stopping distances will improve the racing better than anything they do aerodynamically.

I went to check the actual released quarterly financials to see if Rivian was really in this bad of shape. If Rivian actually had a gross profit per vehicle, but a net loss due to the costs of engineering and marketing, then scaling the company could allow it to become profitable.

This tech has been around for twenty years. Sand SLA is great for doing small run sand casting, where you want to make sure there is no core-shift. You can design your 3d solid model and the ‘printer’ lays out a thin layer of sand, then binder, then another layer of sand (sort of like the old starch printers but…

The problem with a 1-3 year old car from Honda, Toyota, etc...is that you will pay almost full retail price.

Tesla is known for their horrible build quality, so uneven wavy panels are expected. But what really stood out to me in photos of these “production candidate” Cybertrucks is the crappy finish! Where are they sourcing the steel for the panels from, recycled oil platforms?

Toyota: It’s more efficient to make more hybrids with limited battery resources than fewer BEVs.

I still don’t get why Toyota won’t make the cars anyone wants. People have been laughed off the lot looking for a RAV4 prime for as long as its been for sale.
