To me the difference is AHS is not actually offering “clues” to the season’s theme. It’s one “clue” and a bunch of red herrings. That’s just plain silly and stupid really. Offer up real clues so people can put stuff together.

Yeah all good points. It’s a shame it wasn’t approached on the show, at least to give us a logical/alternative explanation. It does feel like a big hole that was necessary for the plot to move the way it did, which is a shame considering how stellar the show was outside of it.
