Oh, but all of the content in Siege is unlockable through (18 months of continuous) play!

You don’t get why people are mad that Ubisoft is spending time releasing new content you essentially have to pay for like this is some F2P game, while the game itself is still a broken, buggy mess riddled with crashes and disconnects?
If new emotes are 7,000 I imagine the new “free” characters will run you a cool 25,000 steel. I haven’t even earned that much since launch. Admittedly I haven’t been playing regularly since the game is barely functional right now. Ubisoft tricked the world into paying $60 for a free-to-play game.
Yep, this game is a broken pile of shit that monetizes everything and yet can’t afford to fix a single one of its dozens of game-breaking bugs. Can only imagine how much the “free” DLC characters will cost. Not 2 minutes ago I played a long, close game of doninion only to have the game crash just before victory.
To be fair, footage of Koreans playing any time of game at a pro-level will make anyone feel slow and old.
Don’t feel old...I think he was just trying to use as many obscure pro-gaming terms as he could in one post. I don’t even know what those meant. Oh...wait....
This doesn’t even look like the same Overwatch I play. It looks like a fast forwarded version with quake levels of bunnyhopping and ten times the flashy effects. Insanity.
You think this was a meltdown? This wasn’t a meltdown. This was just business as usual. You want to see a meltdown, watch Rachel Maddow’s Trump Tax segment for some really heartbreaking career suicide.
Video games are one of the greatest and healthiest coping mechanisms to help deal with depression. The escapism combined with the little accomplishments and successes are the perfect way to kick start little bursts of dopamine when nothing else will work. Always nice to hear someone finding comfort in games when…
We see people saying that the rising costs of developing video games justifies so much bullshit: $80 and $100 editions with content that should have been included in the base edition, as well as day loads of DLC needed to make the game feel complete, and loads of microtransactions in retail priced games.
FUCK OFF YOU FASCIST NAZI OR WE’LL PUNCH YOU IN THE FAAAACE
We’re talking about a specific user who has made it his job to stalk every user who disagrees with him and tell everyone to dismiss them whenever they comment anywhere on the site, in an attempt to suppress any dissenting opinions. Sorry you jumped in swinging wildly without a clue, cupcake ;) Pay attention next time!
Who the fuck does shit like this? How can anyone live a life where the greatest impact they had on the world was to steal private photos of women and publish them? Ugly, pointless people.
I appreciate your response. The problem is Kotaku’s layout is so clean and readable, and most of the writers are actual gamers who write about games, so for the most part it’s enjoyable. It’s just that every now and then certain tone-deaf writers who don’t really get video games, or just want to condescendingly preach…
The funny part is that they don’t actually believe “don’t look at it” is a valid argument, it’s really just a lack of an argument that they’d never actually follow themselves. You can be sure they’d speak up if they saw anything offensive in an article or video game, and I’m sure they wouldn’t just say “oh well, I…
The irony of him desperately trying to censor every dissenting voice whilst calling people nazis is probably lost on him, sadly.
Exactly my thoughts. There’s just enough niche content that’s actually about video games to offset the disgust of wading through the hyperpoliticized garbage from a few of the writers here.
To Jman:
Lol, don’t go to those sites, sorry to burst your bubble, bud.
I guess they’re trying to succeed at ruining anything fun wherever they can find it, since they’re realizing they’re losing the culture war very badly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
