Absolutely, the only thing stopping a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. That’s the rallying cry of the nra whenever there’s a shooting : more guns! Just not around the politicians they have bought, I guess.

I think some folks are having buyer’s remorse, probably people who aren’t brainwashed but who also aren’t well informed. I really hope a bunch of people who didn’t bother to vote will vote next time, even tho it’s unlikely. We’re just in an awful lot of trouble right now.

I get that a lot of super rich assholes vote R. Which means they’re voting in favor of everything that’s awful, and at least some of them have to know that. My question is, how much money do they need before they grow a conscience?

It’s been that way for a long while, with both parties for the most part. It’s a shame that it took pissing away our democracy to get people to pay attn. If enough folks had paid attn before this horror show, most of our elected officials wouldn’t have the jobs they do.

So if I understand this correctly, Gohmert believes (& votes accordingly) that there should be guns, guns, guns for everybody! Then refuses to leave his safe space because he is scared of some mythical person with a gun?

He doesn’t think the U.S. Government has been run properly, it needs to run like a business, so he orders business folk in (because he can order folk because he’s president), then I guess they talk about important business things, like screwing everybody over that is not them.

This isn’t about damage, it’s about silencing the opposition.

I live in a very red town, and my neighbors scare me. Places like the jezebel comment threads show me I’m not alone and give me an outlet. It’s absolutely vital, which is why I’m worried about the fcc wanting to fiddle with the internet.
