You didn't read my entire statement. You think I meant Nihilism is belief in nothing. Don't take it literally, I meant that I don't believe anything we say or do is going to make a difference. I'm only 'Nihilistic' in that sense. I'm not trying to be 'cool' by saying it. If you can tell me a better way to phrase that

That last thing you said. That's the ticket or something.

Who said I wasn't a Pacifist or that I didn't oppose Industrialism or Consumerism? I take big issue with the latter two and see war and aggression as an absolute last resort.

I just admire the man's work, that's all. I don't think it makes me 'cool' or anything.

I only said Colbert was a hack.

So clever.

I'm pretentious because I don't believe that anything anyone can do makes a difference? That's just my honest feeling. It's despair and hoplessness, yes. I know Liberals hate that shit. Sorry.

That's just how I feel. It may be irrational, but I am certain Liberals care about feelings, right?

For what? Using the word 'Nihilistic?' Yeah, how else would you describe what I was feeling in as few words as possible? I wasn't trying to be 'cool', twat.

How so? How would you describe the void, the vacancy, the despair of being powerless and insignificant? Could I have just said that and not have been a 'pompous ass?' Would it have made any difference in what I was trying to say?

Taken out of context. Entire comment is posted below. I absolutely stated that I don't think it matters what any of us do after stating that I was 'fairly Nihilistic' I didn't say that I believed in nothing, only that that I didn't know what the truth was after being accused of believing myself to own some 'revealed

I'll clear this up once and for all. You guys are so attached to the word Nihilism and are accusing me of taking things literally when that's what you are guilty of. From one of my comments above: "By the way, I'm only Nihilistic in the sense that I don't think I can make a difference. None of us can. That's all I

By the way, I'm only Nihilistic in the sense that I don't think I can make a difference. None of us can. That's all I ever said. Nihilist doesn't always have to mean 'believes in nothing.' Talk about taking things literally. You guys have that in spades. You aren't paying attention to what I've stated. Prove me wrong.

Let it go.

Evidence? Getting an 'impression' does not prove anything. It's just an insult. I already said that I'm nothing special. What else do you want? I don't know everything.

As do I. I was only countering an accusation of absurdity by pointing to an absurd statement. The responder never made an effort to explain why Hitchens would take issue with it.

Actually, I was replying to someone who said my references to Nihilism would have 'Hitchens rolling in his grave.' I wasn't taking it literally, but merely pointing out the absurdity of their statement because they were trying to make the point that my statement regarding Nihilism was absurd. I was countering an

I was pretty sure that most Atheists refused to believe anything supernatural. They have always been traditionally skeptics. I figure 'rolling in a grave' would be a supernatural act? What do you think?

Got you mixed up with someone else here. Sorry. I don't care if you think that. I know I'm not. If you knew me in real life, you would know that it simply isn't so, but then it's easier to reveal what you really think to strangers on the Internet. We're all anonymous here and it doesn't matter. After this conversation

I don't think that such things should be regulated or eliminated by the state. I would only hope that people could be persuaded to do the right thing. That they would realize when it was destructive. That's not Fascist or Authoritarian.
