For all to see, she was firmly rejected by both black men & black women during the primaries in spite of all the guns pointed at our heads and black celebrities shouting at us to support her candidacy. That’s the history; it’s not about being a “spokesperson”.

It’s all about turn out at this point. And it’s all about optics at this point.

It’s not about Kamala being “a cop”, it’s about her locking up black folks and enjoying & boasting about it. Believe me, the Trump campaign will be only to happy to remind us.

What a disaster! And what an insult to black folks.

Biden has been spewing bigoted stuff for the longest while yet black politicians, media pundits, intellectuals, writers, keep making excuses for the guy. Shameful.

Wow, so i’m guessing TheRoot is solidly Kamala Harris territory. How disappointing. The fact remains though that the Black community isn’t feeling Kamala Harris and no amount of browbeating us will change that. The same way folks didn’t like Hillary Clinton is pretty much the same for Harris - she is inauthentic, and

I wonder how the Falashas/Ethiopians fit into the Jesus color equation? hmm....

I’ll take the Jesus of history who fucked with the Roman occupiers over the Christ of faith any time. The Christ of faith handed down to us by religious zealots of the time is a complete disaster for humanity.

I don’t think Bush was a “beloved friend” of Coretta King or John Lewis, given how fiercely they criticized his administration. I think Harry Belafonte was a beloved friend of Coretta King and the entire King family yet he was disinvited to speak at her funeral because of White House pressure and family nonsense etc.

POC/people of color/person of color is a trap, a trickbag. How long are we gonna be blind to this? Anti-blackness is fierce in parts of the Caribbean & Latin America. Let’s stop deluding ourselves; let’s stop trying to embrace those who don’t give a crap about us; let’s spend more time embracing ourselves. Time to

Why do we always have warmongers & war criminals (ex presidents?) attend the funerals of Civil Rights icons like John Lewis? The same thing happened at Coretta Scott King’s funeral. Both of them were advocates of love, peace, and nonviolence, yet......

Very interesting. I’m all for an independent black political party - one that is truly independent, both in terms of funding and financing.

I’ve always felt Bill Clinton deserved a special corner in hell! And to you black public intellectuals who helped crown Clinton our first black president, Go To Hell Too.

Condolences to his immediate family. But given the circumstances, his death leaves me very cold.

Another great article,

How could she “definitely energize the campaign” if the base of the party, black folks, didn’t buy what she was selling? Harris has lots of fans at TheRoot but the black masses didn’t fall for the hype.

Nah, not gonna happen! It would be a disaster! In a way I wish it would be Harris so I wouldn’t have to vote for Joe Biden, but i’m still betting & hoping it’s Val Demings or especially Elizabeth Warren.

They are the self-hating black on black bashers found in every corner of the Black diaspora where slavery, colonialism, imperialism and white supremacy have wrecked psychological havoc on our people. They look in the mirror and hate what they see, particularly for many mixed race or biracial people, who simply hate

“You quote the anti-white stuff he said but don’t quote the antisemitic things he said....”

I remember reading the work of Dr Frances Cress Welsing (not Welding) and a bunch of us having great discussions around it at Medgar Evers College, Brooklyn. Lots of fascinating stuff in there with quite a bit straining credulity. I’m glad she engaged those ideas though. RIP.
