A friend just went through this (preventative double mastectomy with reconstruction) and her boobs look amazing. And by “amazing” I mean very much how they looked before, which is exactly what she wanted.

I have the BCRA 1 mutation and wish I would've done the preventative surgery when I was younger. It's a bit of a process but worth it and better to deal with than chemo.

Since I’ve already been there, I’m gonna say it’s gonna be fine, you’ve got this (and it beats chemo by a mile)! You’ll rock it, and never have to wear a bra again! But buy those nippies things, they’re great. The doctor did fat grafting onto the breast, too, so there was an added bonus of liposuction at the same

I’m not really loving the snark -some women get implants as part of reconstructive surgery. Having breasts that feel natural would be a really great thing, and help cancer survivors feel less shitty about the drastic changes to their bodies/immune system/life.

there was a super interesting article about breast implant technology in wired a couple years back. a group of scientists are working on technology to help women grow natural breasts post-mastectomy. if it ever moves beyond that to be an option available to all women, i’d maybe consider it.

I can imagine. My love would disappear instantly. I'm not a believer in unconditional love.

cannot imagine what it would be like if a family member of mine committed some horrible crime or act. that’s all i’ve got. too tired to even be sad today.

OMG this is already awesome! And already a million times better than both that horrible Sound of Music and execrable Peter Pan!

Jesus, Meghan Trainor. You are the literal worst!

I’m going to quote this one time, motherfucker, and I hope you can read it here since you obviously didn’t bother to in the piece above:

If i wasn’t act work I would post the video of the Chris Rock bit about bullets being $1,000 each and how that would reduce drive by shootings.

And California. And New York. And Illinois. And Oregon. And...

Fair enough, allow me to amend my statement. About the only thing I can be surprised at is that they’ve only implicated the apparatus of justice in Alabama in this, as opposed to every state’s such apparatus.

About the only thing I can be surprised at is that they’ve only implicated cops in Alabama in this.

As a white person I can say, Yes, we do appear to be utter shitbags.

white people are the devil

Is disappointedragesadness a thing? I think that is what I feel. Mostly I just want to smoke all the weed and look at unusual pairs of baby animals until I forget.

The minimum sentence for any illegal action that leads to a wrongful conviction should be ten years, or the numbers of years served in prison by anyone wrongfully convicted - added together.

If you participated, the only way you get back to the lower sentence? You help convict your co-conspirators.

There’s got to be

I disagree that it creates a stigma. I am a parent that sent her kids to daycare this early and was comfortable with it. I don’t feel stigmatized by this.
