So I guess what I’m getting from that is that autonomous tech will still need human supervision and occasional intervention for years to come? That makes sense, seeing as humans are much better at disaster avoidance than robots.

Good point...i hadn’t thought of that. Let’s settle on 250,000, which sounds like a nice number for all the countries with real echoes of safety standards. Still, that’s a lot of lives to be saved, even if we narrow it down further to 200k or even 175k. And at some point autonomy will reach most places so that number…
