Mitigating factor: He was the poster child for "why can't more of them be like him" for a lot of old white racists.

And none of that homo French crepe stuff. Pancakes and sausage, like Jesus had for breakfast.
Yeah, sure is. I really hope that if, like sometimes is the case with budget hotels, the hotels are run by Indian or Arab folks that they aren't treated like garbage.
Imagine the clientele at the hotel bar. Lotsa angry drinking.
Oh, okay, like Girls except with realistic NYC racial representation.
I can sum up your post with this:
Yeah. It's not the container the bullshit is in, it's the bullshit itself.
I grew up in PA Dutch country (York PA) and going to market and seeing the PA Dutch meat vendors used to freak me out because they'd have tongue next to brains, kidneys, etc. like some cow autopsy. Ugh.
I know. Hell, I'll say that just for her "WE'RE TRYING TO GIVE YOU THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT DICKHOLES!" delivery.
OH GODDAMMIT (in Sweet Dee angry voice)
It's very difficult to explain but it was sort of an email/IM/filesharing hybrid. The senior director in my dept and others went nuts over it. My dept does tech trainings as part of the work we do at our university, and we did training sessions on it. Google released a pretty long launch video. They talked about how…
If you were expecting 500, then it's not really a success. As Roswulf pointed out, the amount of money dumped into it is a factor. Not a great ROI.
Some of my co-workers are into "disrupting" and they got mad at me a little while ago when I said the following:

This is classic Silicon Valley/techie bro thinking…create something that focuses on what THEY think is cool but never consider if other people will like it, and I imagine this guy didn't listen to anyone. There's also a detachment of reality and an almost feeling of contempt towards what life is like outside of the…
I went to one of these "artisan" grilled cheese sandwich places when I was in Austin a few years ago. Delicious, but these were sandwiches. I had one with brisket, avocado, queso asadero, pepper jelly, arugula, tomato, and chipotle mayo…that's a fucking sandwich, not a grilled cheese.
I didn't have to ask you but I agree.
Read Andrew Keen's "The Internet is Not the Answer". Something has to give. I'm all for innovation and technology but we also have to be human beings.
I've been in the tech world since the Internet Bubble and have learned that many of these Silicon Valley type people are good at two things:
I DISTINCTLY REMEMBER ORDERING THE GOUDA ON MULTIGRAIN AND MODUSOPERANDI THREW A CHEDDAR ON SOURDOUGH AT ME FAIL FAIL FAIL I HATE EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE AND WILL NOW GO ON A KILLING SPREE
