"why is it that people want to believe that pedophilia's not a choice"
Because not everything effects different people the same way. What's hard to understand about that? Not everyone who sexually abuses children were sexually abused themselves, either.
I'm not taking anyone's word on anything. Like I said, I haven't seen the movie and therefore don't have an opinion. All I'm saying is that a lot of the criticism I've seen has been about racism. That doesn't mean I agree with it. I'm just reporting on what I've seen.
Well, I didn't see the movie myself and don't really have an opinion of my own, and I don't want to speak for anyone else, so I'll just post this, which seems to sum it up:
Looks pretty much like normal human being in this photo.
To be fair, most of the criticism I heard for Lucy was that it was super racist. So, is it okay to champion a racist-ass film as long as it has a female lead? I think most people would think not.
This is perfect.
I think they're pretty much spot on; at least for me. There's no way you'd ever get me to eat a whole bug. But if you crushed it into a fine powder and cooked into something I would totally be willing to give it a try.
Serious question here. I swear I'm not trying to stir shit, and I agree that the comment was obviously a light-hearted joke.
Yeah. I hear comments in this vein from benevolent sexists all the time.

Number 2 is a fair point I hadn't thought of before. And I do side-eye anyone who orders a steak well done, so I guess that's fair. I just don't think it makes that huge of a difference. I do like a little steak sauce too though.
I'm pretty sure that I'm not grossing anyone out by cutting up my steak a certain way or putting my knife on the wrong side of the plate or using the wrong spoon. I'm not an animal; I'm not chewing with my mouth open or sucking on my fingers. Beyond the very easy standard of "don't be gross" I just don't see any…
"you should make every effort to eat correctly."
"Maybe it is classist. But let's be honest, we live in a classist society."
Sure. But I guess I just don't really pay attention to how other people eat for the most part. Like, why does it matter? Personally, I tend to eat in a fairly systematic way. I usually eat all of one item first, then move on to the next one. I start with my least favorite thing on the dish and then work my way to my…
Don't you think it's a bit classist to judge someone for not following arbitrary dining etiquette rules?
I'm reluctant to judge people for their private medical decisions. Really, the blame belongs to our culture's obsession with youth, beauty, and virility.
