That 1.2 mil is going to cognitive research for the elderly, a demography a rather large portion our yearly spending is going to in terms of care (in fact over 25% of our yearly spending goes to social security, medicare, and medicaid, matching spending for military).

Unfortunately, that's an economic issue that lies elsewhere (specifically job wages not increasing in proportion to inflation and cost of living), not so much with the pricing of games. Same here, especially since I typically find greater revisit value in games than movies. $15 for 2 hours of gameplay that I can play over and over isn't an issue to me, especially when it's part of a game I'm already playing considerably.
