The thing is that no one is actually entitled to due process to protect their right to fame, though. Due process protects our legal right to freedom when we are formally charged with breaking the law (which C.K. has not been). Fame is the very definition of a popularity contest and you do not need to be proven guilty

We’re entitled to due process when charged with a crime, in court. He’s lucky he wasn’t charged with sexual battery.

Taking a political/moral stance and taking a beating for it is admirable, even if you’re wrong (she wasn’t). But becoming a pariah because you’re a super gross and admitted creep abuser? She didn’t deserve the vitriol and he deserves 10 times more.

I think considering the movie he made with Grace-Moretz, he might well have been thinking about his daughters.

Whipping his dick out was bad enough, but he also actively tried to ruin the careers of those women and anyone who tried to report on it as well. People don’t talk about that enough. Like so much fucking hand-wringing over a guy’s “ruined reputation” and literally nothing about the reps of all the women he crushed

“What was I supposed to do? Take a single moment to think through the facts of the case and recognize that no malicious violations of the rules had occurred? That opens a veritable Pandora's Box, and before you know it, I'd have to spend the whole day actually thinking."

My own website hired a guy from Dead Spin and all he talks about is Avengers. This is what I am subjected to in the workplace environment”

(checks notes...)

That sounds like absolute nonsense to me. What studies have they to support such a claim?

Yes, “fantasy” is terrible. We should only make films about doing taxes.

“What’s all this politics crap? I want to hear people bitch about nerds!”

I also talked to several developmental psychologists as well, and they all agreed that taking Hamilton Nolan seriously about anything is a huge barrier to maturity.

I don’t get HamNo, specifically his response to your comment about talking with developmental psychologists regarding these movies. Maybe this is all sacarcasam/he’s being facetious. He said these movies are “a dangerous barrier to maturity”.

Well it’s a good thing you quoted them in your “story” then.

Were any of them named Frederick Wertham? Because I gotta tell ya, the track record of psychologists on this is pretty shitty.

Lol wat? I hope you’re being sarcastic. Don’t read sci fi or fantasy! Don’t enjoy escapism! Read Sartre and be sad!

Yes, how dare we go see movies with people doing exciting things. We should all go see Jennifer Lawrence gawk at things off-screen or Ryan Gosling look stoned as fuck while gazing at something off-screen. SUCH RIVETING CONTENT!

Counterpoint-

This was a lot of words to say that you want clicks for being contrary.

If you don’t like a film genre, let me give you some advice, watch something else.

All the women are starving and all the men have the same beard. You’ve turned comic books into 90210. Womp womp.
