They attend a nasty, hateful church that preaches that gay people and women are lesser beings than white dudes like me. There is no argument about that. There are plenty of churches that don’t preach that — even in Central Texas. They CHOOSE to attend one that does.

I’ve lived among “conservative” Xians for more than 60 years. I personally know at least ten, who, if they could get away with it, would do the exact same things you mention and are proud to let people know it. Religion is the problem — you’re just worried about brands.
