I quit a little bit after they added the garden stuff.  I really wanted to like this game, but I just couldnt keep with it. Oh well, I hope Animal Crossing for Switch comes out next year.. 

They should have toned down their expectations. Maybe go with a Fallout 4 COOP, then after making them work, move into the MMO type space.

You are right, I was lucky enough to play Divinity 2 after finishing Pillars 2, but I probably would not have liked it as much if I was comparing it constantly.
