Remember when gas/oil prices went up really high and flight prices skyrocketed because of it? And they crammed more seats on planes and charged us heavy fees for bags? This is the messed up thing about politics, most people (the media included) are more concerned about the emotions and actions in a speech as opposed to what the actual content is. Most people vote with their emotions and with the “party” they side with as opposed to what policy is actually better for them.

This how bullies work. They beat you down so far you just want it to end. So that when they show any whisper of a hint of relenting or improving their behavior you are so grateful. But they don’t stop. They’ll never stop.

That’s actually what happened with the inauguration day protests in DC (the prosecutions, by the way, are still ongoing). They kettled ~230 people, among which were maybe 4-5 people who had been smashing shit, and arrested all 230 and charged them all with felony participation in a riot.

Cotton changed the venue five times in three days in order to confuse his constituents to try and make sure they wouldn’t show up (or that only his most diehard fans/supporters showed up). Thankfully the media was on it and people found out the right place to go.
