I work for a state health department, in an office building. We were on lockdown for about 2 months, and then all had to come back into the office in the middle of May, when cases were starting to spike in the state (we’re now approaching those levels again). That’s what really gets me about this whole thing: Republicans are the ones who removed the individual mandate, then they turned around and said “Look at this illegal stuff that totally wasn’t illegal until we messed with it! It should all be illegal!”

I would like to propose that we stop calling them the GOP. There’s nothing grand about them. Just drop the G and call them the OP.

Anecdotally, my brother-in-law was a pretty steadfast trump supporter and claimed it was because he’s a veteran, but his niece who is 13 years old set his dumb ass straight and he ended up voting for Biden. There is hope for the future. Maybe not as much as we’d like to think, but it’s there.

What I really can’t believe is almost 70 million people watching the last 4 years and then deciding “Hell yes, sign me up for some more of that!”
