Nintendo is talking to the generation with money, the ones who are in their 30s-40s who were coming up when these games were just released. The ones who would remember the original advertisements. I notice a lot of people ridiculing the puppets from the event, which is funny because it was an awesome homage to their original marketing campaign. Mostly people too young to remember.
